CIH 3.0 Donor Engagements

Norway’s Expert Committee on Global Health

Norway has played a leading international role in global health over the last 25 years. How should this work be continued? An expert committee led by Camilla Stoltenberg, has released a new report examining Norway’s opportunities and challenges in global health up to 2050, providing recommendations to Norwegian policymakers. The report called “Norway Can, Norway Should Take the Lead in Halving Premature Death by 2050,” embraces many of the recommendations of the CIH 3.0 report.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), one of the bilaterals that supported the development of the CIH3 report, hosted a satellite session at Health Systems Global 2024 in Nagasaki, Japan. The session was opened by Saeda Makimoto (JICA) and featured presentations from commissioners Dr David Watkins, Ms Sarah Bolongaita, Dr Wenhui Mao, and Prof Hitoshi Oshitani. The presentations were followed by a panel session featuring Prof Viroj Tangcharoensathien (Thailand), Dr Roselynn Omolloh (Kenya), Dr Kumanan Rasanathan (WHO), and Dr Satoshi Ezoe (Japan). The room was completely full of attendees, and the presentations and panelist remarks sparked a lively discussion and audience interest in the report.
