Myanmar’s domestic health investments

We worked with the Ministry of Health in Myanmar to provide policy and analytical support for key health financing decisions.

Drawing on the findings from the CIH’s Global Health 2035 report, we provided country-specific analysis highlighting the large economic benefits of investing in health in Myanmar. This analysis included proposed pathways for Myanmar to achieve a grand convergence and universal health coverage. On July 28-29, 2015 the CIH participated in the first ever Myanmar Health Forum, which focused on highlighting the returns to investing in health. After an opening speech by Vice President Dr. Sai Mauk Kham, Commissioner Dean Jamison gave the keynote address and Commissioner Helen Saxenian led a panel discussion on the significance of investing in health for economic growth and social development.
